FACELIFTING OF PATNA SAHIB RAILWAY STATION
Patna City, Bihar
Architecture concept plans and elevation with all working details.
Completed in 2017. This design was selected for the facelift of the existing old Patna Sahib station, as part of a design competition held during the 350th anniversary celebration of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The project was executed under the banner of the Consultancy Wing, Department of Architecture, NIT Patna. Architect Ataullah Khan's design concept was approved by the Railway Department from two options he presented. The design elevation incorporates architectural features inspired by Sikh Gurudwaras, blending traditional elements with modern materials like glass and jali. The arch styles used in the design are drawn from the iconic Patna Sahib Gurudwara, creating a connection between the station's aesthetics and the region's cultural heritage.
